SOUp kitchen
and
evening meals program
The Soup Kitchen offers a balanced, nutritious meal each day in a safe, clean and caring environment to all who are hungry. Project Host was founded in 1981 by local church and lay leaders distressed at the hunger and poverty in Greenville. Today, we serve approximately 150 of our less fortunate neighbors six days a week.  Meals are offered to anyone who comes through the door, no questions asked.  For some, it is the only meal they will receive on any given day; for others, the meals help alleviate difficult decisions, such as whether to pay the energy bill or buy groceries.  Hundreds of volunteers offered their time and energy in preparing and serving 38,889 meals in 2017.
If you would like to volunteer in the soup kitchen, sign up below. Volunteers are needed Sunday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.   To donate food or for other questions please call 864-235-3403 or email info@projecthost.org.

Our Evening Meals program partners with local churches to provide hot meals in communities with identifiable needs. We are currently serving four sites once a week, Monday-Thursday.  If you are unable to volunteer during daytime hours, evening meal preparation takes place once a week on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Please sign up below.
